Posted on August 24, 2010February 28, 2019 by admin

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Friday 20 August 2010. “Sports streaming website to offer live online coverage of Badminton’s biggest individual championship event and Tennis’ major sporting event on www.totalsports.tv.”

Total Sports Asia will be offering live streaming of 2 premium racquet events later this month. Fans will be able to catch live broadcast of the Badminton World Championship in Paris (starting on 23rd August 2010) and the US Open Tennis Championship from New York (beginning 30th August 2010) in selected territories.

Both of the events are free in the preliminary rounds until the quarterfinals of the Badminton World Championships and the third round of the US Open Tennis, providing a total of 225 hours of exclusive live coverage.

Julian Jackson, Executive Vice President, Media of TSA said, “These marquee events are just the tip of the iceberg for Total Sports TV as we plan to stream more live and exclusive events from 2011. We have secured a number of worldwide rights including the BWF Badminton Super Series and it will be offered live and free on the platform in the early rounds to capitalize on the huge following of racquet sports fans in Asia who are rapidly embracing the internet as the source for live sports viewing.”

These events are on the back of Total Sports TV just finishing a successful run with the badminton’s Thomas & Uber Cup in May where the channel had acquired over 8500 new members and a total viewership of 143,650 with over 30,000 unique visitors in limited territories in Asia. The channel also has recently added Mastercard and VISA in addition to Paypal as its payment method.
